IMPORTANT : Health Update for Sacred Grove’s Spring 2025 Attendees and Volunteers
The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting an outbreak of measles in the South Plains region of Texas. At this time, 223 cases have been identified since late January. We are making you aware of this as you may be planning to travel to Sacred Grove for the Spring programs, as an attendee or volunteer.
Due to the highly contagious nature of this disease, additional cases are likely to occur in the outbreak area and the surrounding communities.
The Texas Department of State Health Services recommends getting immunized with two doses of a vaccine against measles, which is primarily administered as the combination measles-mumps-rubella vaccine. Two doses of the MMR vaccine are highly effective at preventing measles.
We recommend that you consult your Primary Care Physician(PCP) to get guidance on your vaccination status. We are sending this email to give you sufficient time to consult with your doctor and take any necessary action if needed.
